Robbie, White Cap, and Gray Ghost and I had a great day fishing the Merrimack on Matty's boat. ("Hooked on Salmon") Matty's a great captain and didn't lose any of us "rfp's" in the drink! It was so nice having Matty do all the work. We fished with live maks and frozen ones later on drifting close to the mouth. It was really rough for a while. We got 6 keepers and a lot of close to keeper size. No cows, but Matty kept us out of the huge waves for which we were grateful! Safety first. I would recommend him to anyone for a great day of Striper fishing!
On the way back while crossing the bridge in Hampton, we saw a boat, around 30' long, stuck on top of a big rock pile. There was a couple on board waiting for help and the tide to rise. Got some pics and maybe my buddy Gus will post them here. lol.
Thanks again for a terrific day Matty! And for filleting our catch. It was an easy day at sea for old Salty.
Good Report Salty. I too have fished with Matty and he knows his stuff and goes the extra mile for his customers. I knew is Dad and his Grandfather well from Salmon Unlimited days and I know he comes from good stock. I'll have to try Stripers with Mattie myself although I prefer casting Slug-Os with light gear over using bait.
Nice job guys. Hey Salty, on group pics, how come you are always holding the biggest fish? I don't envy those guys on the shoals. I guess it could have been worse. Matty, thanks for showing the "prune possee" a good time! LOL
