Yeah, what's the inspectors excuse for not hitting the improper window installations? Most of the windows that I'm aware of requires a sealant gap be provided between the window and the trim/stucco. Any where between 1/4 and 3/8 of an inch. In conjunction with this why isn't the sealant gap inspected after it is sealed to make sure that the window was installed completely correct? If the inspectors can't or won't do the job that they were hired for then why do we need to continue to pay them. If they can't jump every time there is an inspection then maybe we need to have the inspection system evaluated first. As well maybe we need to follow Washington states' lead and mandate that you need to be certified to put all systems up as well be certified to be a sealant applicator, and each job site has to have a certified card carrying person on site or be at risk of being shut down and the risk of legal action be commenced against the contractor. |
