Message:   Efflorescence of concrete is a normal condition that occurs from water sources including sprinklers, drip irrigation, humidity changes and during the process of drying-out. Efflorescence is a white, chalky film composed of one or more crystallized soluble salts which is common and noticeable in concrete and masonry products. This is merely the lime and alkalis that are in the cement extruding (bleeding through) the product. It is sometimes more apparent during cool, damp mornings on the shaded side of the house. It is important to know that trying to wash or rub this substance off will only prolong its presence; it is best to be patient as it will eventually fade away on its own.
