Re: Welcome to Growing Faith Together Online

I happened upon your site while searching for faith based web communities. I have never really been a church goer but I do like to participate in the faith based discussions and churches that I have found online. I guess for me, brick and mortar churches just seem to have too many political agendas and are too intrusive for my particular tastes. Hopefully I can find something here that will keep me coming back.

Re: Welcome to Growing Faith Together Online

Welcome Lizapenn! I understand your negative feelings regarding brick and mortar churches. The number one thing that turns off many people to Christianity, God, Jesus is unfortunately Christians and the "established Church." It is true that too often "politics" rules the day in many churches. People aren't welcome in many churches because the feel more like country clubs with bouncers standing at the door deciding who is worthy of entry and who is not. As a pastor I have seen that happen all too often. Yet, the Christian movement that Jesus started intends to build a community that is radically different that most of the "brick and mortar churches" that you and I have encountered in the past. I pray that in time Living Faith Christian Community, both as an online church and as a on the ground movement will live up to Jesus's vision of welcoming, including, transforming and empowering people with a Living Faith that you can believe in. Thanks for joining the discussion. Please stop back real soon.
