bangkok advice

hey there

coming to thailand soon, but our flight arrives in quite late into bangkok and we probably wont make it into bangkok city centre untill 11.30 pm, so we are thinking we need to book a hotel before we go that has 24 hour reception, last time we rocked up to kao san road during the day and found somewhere pretty quickly to stay, but would like somewhere a bit nicer this time

so does anyone know of any really good hotels that are really close to main tourist attractions? maybe near kao san road, that are not too expensive, even advice on good area's to stay in would be great that will bring out the best of the city

thanks guys cheers els

Re: bangkok advice

I just stayed at the Royal Hotel phone #66-222-29111-26 room with ac two beds 1000 bt. with breakfast buffet. It was very near to Grand Palace, National Theather etc. There is also a nightly food market right there so you can eat all the yummy Thai food from the street venders. But don't bother with the taxi drivers hanging out at the hotel, walk out to the street and flag down a Taxi, tuk tuk or whatever.
The guys hanging out at the hotel are more expensive or try and sound like they are cutting you a deal, but they aren't.

Re: bangkok advice

I personally dont like the kao san road area, so my favorite pick is the Ambassador hotel off Sukhumvit. It is 4star and is in a great area, comes with a huge buffet breakfast that has everything. The rate will be more like 1500baht for the night. It is a little more expensive but for the value one of the best deals in the area. Hotel is very walking distance to Nana and Soi Cowboy for nightime fun and some Israelis opened an after hour bar that is on a rooftop that over looks Sukhumvit.(very cool)One of the biggest treats I had never been to before was the the Suan-Lum night bazaar. It is a fricken huge complex with magor shopping and the biggest beer garden in Bangkok, huge stage with bands and entertainment, a definate must do in Bangkok, opens at night...If you do stay here, all the little roadside bar carts that open up at night are great, in between the Ambassador and Nana is a little bar cart called "Lucy bar" She opens up around 11:00 at night and she rocks, she is a white chick that was born and raised in Bangkok and loves her tequila. Check her out, theres usually a little elephant wandering around her stall. Try this website for the best price....

or the regular hotel site..

www.amtel.co.th/

They have 3 hotels on this site and its the one on top your looking for

Have fun Elles, cuz Im jealous and wont be back in Thailand till November.

Re: bangkok advice

What's needed are recommendations for hotels that have full-service ("3-way") massages. There are hotels in many places that offer great massages; but when in bkk, why not have a really intimate experience.

Where can guys go to have both a nice hotel room, and a great ALL BODY, 3-way massage? Something very fulfilling?

Thanks!
