whats your fav spot on the island ???
hey ! not much going on in this forum. so give me your favorite spot ! i like haad rin sunset beach, leela beach and for total relaxation bottle beach 2 bungalows on bottle beach ! 6.5 months till holiday and KPG  have fun Bob |

Dont ya hate it when the board is a little slow!!! One of my favorite chill spots on the island is up north in Chaloklum. If your heading there from Thong Sala then hang a left when you hit Chaloklum. Go like 2 restaurants in and its this little place that over looks the bay and just has a bunch of tables, hammocks and futons.It is family run and has great food and killer chilled beers. Sorry I cant remember the name of it but anywhere in the Chaloklum area is chill with me. Also if you havnt been around the west side than ya havnt really been to Ko Phangan...My favorite beer bar is the one across the street from Bankai Orchid resort, just before you hit the Haddrin hills heading south. The girls are really friendly and once again the beer is killer cold, it seems to be one of the busiest ones on the road cuz I think it kinda bottle knecks at the base of the hills. ohhh so many to choose from I remember when i visited the chinse temple amongst the mountains (not sure of name of area) it was beautiful and the sceenery was amazing! The story that goes behind the temple is lovely too!That day i felt inspired! But, i spent a majority of my time in Hadd Yao (west) and that place will always have a place in my haert! |

I got a few favorite places on the isle, a few hidden gems (yes they are still there, those in the know will confirm this  . But my number 1 place, where I stay most of my time is Thong Nai Pan. Both beaches (Yai and Noi)are stunning and have kept their bohemian vibe with some exellent bars such as Chai Bar,Game Bar (some great parties here), Dolphins Bar, Bio s Dynamic Kitchen.If you stay in Yai take a trip up into the jungle behind the main village road and say hi to whit at the blue oasis bar- he can show you how to have a good time there.

Went to Thong Nai Pan Noi also Xen in january and stayed with my girlfriend at baan panburi, was a little worried our 1st nite their as the bar closed at 10pm, but the area is beautiful ! Found a little bar at the end of the beach which opened till bout midnite which was cool and went back the following evening and met some good guys who took us to another bar (jungle bar i think) and was their till the small hours. Theirs a guy called Mr Handsome who does tours and has a little sandwhich shop, really funny man and had a great day out with them to Angthong nat marine park which after the hike up to the top viewpoint, the sights are absolutely out of this world and would highly recommend it.

Hi There, my favourite was the Hideaway Bar on Thong Nai Pan Noi, near the Jungle Bar. Was thre a few years back, does any one know if its still there? Run by a cool guy called K with Tatoos like a jacket all over his upper body. take it easy

Kay is still there and his girlfriend had a baby about a year ago. He's doing good and the parties are still going on every Friday Night!! |

Hey there Whatever, Thanks for the good news regarding K, thats so cool as we are going out next month for the first time since we had our baby 2 years ago, we had such good times and nights at K's and were hoping he would still be around! Thon Nai pan for two weeks without the baby, now that's heaven and the chill down we need. Stay cool and thanks for letting me know, we'll take the baby a present. |
