First timer

This is my first time to a forum and seems to be filled with positive and practical advice. Over seven years ago, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident that turned my world upside down. I was only 16 at the time and suffered from numerous lacerations to my face from the windshield. For a long time, I surpressed my true feeling about the accident and wasn't until recently that I sought out help. It seems that most of my time consisted of relying on alcohol as an escape. I have been on paxil for close to a year now and noticed results in terms of self confidence and assertiveness almost immediately. However, over the past few months, it seems that I am in a downward spiral once again. I'm a bit concerned about changing medications considering that paxil seemed to work initially. Does anyone have some input on changing meds? I would appreciate any response. Thanks
Becky

Re: First timer

Hi,

Yes, meds can change in effectiveness over time. Your body changes and the drug can change how it works. Absolutely check with a doctor and see if you need a new med or simply a change in dosage.

Meanwhile, please pray for Lori - the owner of this forum. God has been using her in a big way but she has been missing from her Groups now for over 2 months. Lori has some very helpful Lessons for facing fears. Her Free From Panic Program can be accessed at two different Yahoo Groups, if you are interested. One is simply ffpg, the other is christianpanicdisorder. You can go to Yahoo.com, click on Groups in the Menu to the left, then search for one of these groups.

ffpg is not very active but the Lessons are posted every Wednesday and Sunday. christianpanicdisorder has frequent discussions, has all the Lessons in the Group files and posts one every Sunday.

I am a co-moderator for one group and a member in the other.

THANKS
Becky
