War against worry!

I find it so difficult not to worry. We are suppose
to trust in God in all things. And in all things by prayer and supplication. However when it comes to health issues or just simply going to the doctor for routine check up. I get myself so worked up that my blood pressure just excels. I have listend to tapes and have read scripture. But I always fall back to being a worrier. It bothers me that I cannot have the faith that I should to please God. We cannot please him without faith and if I had more faith in him I wouldn't be worrying so much. Is there anyone that can tell me some of the things they did to help stop the worrying? Thanks and God Bless
Jared

Re: War against worry!

Hi Troy,

I have the same problem, in fact at this point in dealing with my anxiety etc, it's probably my biggest problem.

I don't know the exact references offhand, but throughout the bible it basically says that if you can trust in god's love, it will drive out fear...

In other words, when you are totally trusting in god's love, and that he is going to take care of you, you won't even be able to be anxious and worried.

Even though I know that, and believe in that, I too have many times where I still feel anxious, which makes me worry that I'm somehow not "getting" gods love.

What helps me sometimes is to think about times in the past, times where I had no idea how I was going to get through a situation, but on looking back I can see that I came through just fine... at least for me, that helps me to trust that god really will take care of us, no matter what happens.

Don't know if this will help you but I pray that it does.

-Jared-
