i am apsolutly disgusted with this sites rating and review of the phantom of the opera. it is the best movie i have ever seen and all their comments were negative. this is a very bad site |

All negative? That's funny, because I distinctly remember calling the film "one of the classics in the history of the horror genre" that holds up today thanks to the strength of its "atmospheric production design" and to Lon Chaney's "innovative makeup and impressive performance." Oh, maybe you were thinking of the overblown Andrew Lloyd Webber film? Even there, I wrote that the "film comes to life in at least a few places." And I added that the "final fadeout shot of a black rose lying on a grave is...touching [and] haunting..." |
