Message:		The next Energize Elbert County (EECo) Board Of County Commissioners (BOCC) Watch is when the Commissioners meet next, on Wednesday 12 October. If you are interested in helping with watching and understanding what the Elbert County Commissioners are doing please contact Jerry Suchan, Energize Elbert County, 303-648-3410, gesuchan@earthlink.net . * The Energize Elbert County meeting of Citizens For Understanding the County Budget was held at Jerry Suchan's house on Monday, November 07, 2005. There was a discussion of the items in the Draft Budget for 2006. It was decided that all in attendance would continue this process after the meeting. The objectives of this effort are: (1) To better understand the 2006 Elbert County Budget and budget process, (2) To accomplish this by forming questions based on items in the budget that are not understood, and on the inconstancies with the budget, and (3) Sharing these questions with the interested citizens of Elbert County by e-mail, and personal discussions. These will form the basis of questions and comments related to the 2006 Budget to be presented to the Elbert County Commissioners on or before 14 December. The next meeting of this citizens group is tentatively set for Monday 5 December at 7 PM at 8096 CR 162. As is a pattern for the Citizens of Elbert County, the active participation in this project is low. The County deserves better. You don't have to be physically present at the meeting to participate, as you can study the budget whenever you have time available for that and provide your input by e-mail. The 2006 Budget and audits and other information are available for those interested in helping or attending this next meeting. I will be posting on the EECo web pages the synopsis of the draft budget, which was reviewed at the meeting, as soon as I edit it.
