There are 2 Metanoias approaching, and a great need exists for Palanca for each Metanoia. Receiving Palanca from the outside is a powerful, moving event during a Metanoia weekend. Many of the candidates do not receive letters from their own families – to receive something from a stranger who has taken time to write a short note and be praying for them can be a turning point in their “change of heart.” Letters, holy cards, neck palanca, posters, and banners are all welcome. Cards and pictures made by children are especially appreciated.
**Rules for Palanca – There are some constraints for Palanca for Metanoia. Please follow these closely:
o All palanca can be made from paper only – no plastic, wood, foam, etc.
o Address Palanca letters to “My Brother [Sister] in Christ” or something similar.
o Sign only your FIRST name – NO LAST NAMES.
o If you put your letter in an envelope, please do not seal the envelope.
o Do not use foil lined envelopes [they will not clear the metal detector]
o No laminated materials are permitted
o No stickers are permitted
o Neck Palanca is great – again, NO last names
If you are making Palanca for a Cursillo, you can just remove your last name and make extra to be used at the next Metanoia!! Palanca can be dropped off at the Cursillo office anytime prior to the Wednesday before a Metanoia.
