It's that time of year again!!! If you're looking for something to do that will make a difference this Christmas season, how about sending a card to our brothers who are in prison. We will be going in to SCI Albion on Christmas Eve to celebrate with the men and will pass out cards to everyone who attends the Mass that night. You have no idea how much this small gesture means to the guys. For many of them, the card they receive on this night is the only card they get. Some never hear from their families/friends. It gives them hope to know that there are people on the outside who care.
The men are especially touched when they get homemade cards from children - if any of you are religious ed teachers,youth group/Girl Scout/Boy Scout leaders, etc., think about having the children/teens make cards for "the least of my brothers". This is also a great ACTION project for a GR!
A few guidelines:
1. Sign only FIRST names.
2. You can write a message, just don't put any identifying information in it.
3. If you put the card in an envelope, do not seal the envelope
4. Please don't use cards/envelopes that have the foil decorations/lining - they set off the metal detector!
