We just received the following prayer request from our prayer chain. We're still in shock but here's the request:

Please pray for the soul of Father Steve Anderson.
Please pray for his family, his friends, and his parishioners.
He was just at St. Hippolyte's for our Penance Service.

Denise and I would add to the request, to pray extra prayers for all the parishioners at Our Lady Queen of the Americas in Conneaut Lake. They have many Cursillistas and we have many close friends that worship there. I had the pleasure of working three Cursillos with Fr. Steve. He was a great priest, a stand-up person and a great friend.

We also received this message but in addition we were asked to say prayers for Fr. John Lucas who had been filling in for Fr. Steve at Our Lady Queen of the Americas but was taken to the hospital today. I'm afraid we have no other details but we are asking for prayer support for Fr. John as well.

We are praying for both and we know God will send His angels to greet Fr. Steve into paradise.

Father Steve was a truly HOLY Man. God has blessed all of us who ever had the opportunity to come in contact with him. He is now with our Heavenly Father watching over all of us.

I have know Fr. Steve since I was a little girl (that is a very long time). He was actually a Cub Scout in my older brother's pack and my mother was his den leader so he spent a lot of time at our house. He was also one of the spiritual directors, along with Fr. Brother Bill (Sutherland) when I made my Cursillo in 1999. I will truly miss his gentle soul, his wit and his humor. Steve, may the choirs of angels greet you, may they speed you to paradise and may you find eternal life.
