Can you finalize the divorce before custody is settled?
I am approaching 2 years since I filed for divorce from my husband. We have 1 child age 4. As of today, I have temporary full custody and my husband's parenting time has been suspended due to an incident. Is there any way to finalize the divorce before the custody agreement is finalized? It's taking so long and I just want to be done with the divorce portion. I realize they go hand in hand but this is taking FOREVER....

Kayla: His Lawyer may be talking to your Lawyer - negotiating different issues (if you both have Lawyers). Family Lawyers are best at answering the question you have written about (best at issues concerning children, I had one. If you need to save money in the meantime and beyond, try the following: the Food Pantry and local thrift shops, Salvation Army for help with budgeting, Govt. (voucher) Day Care, if needed, YMCA or Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
