Abuse is one factor that the court takes into account in a divorce but it is not dipositive (no "winner" take all as far as I know in most states). It also has to be proven. Same for cheating and all the other crappy things that people do.
If you don't have a lawyer, get one. Go to Legal Aide if you can't afford a lawyer.
