My ex husband put a TPO on me out of spite our divorce was final June 17, 2014 we went to court today and i agreed to consent to keep the TPO in place on him but not my children so i could still have visitation. There is nothing in the divorce decree stating i have to insure him only our girls- however, the TPO states that I cannot change utilities, health, life insurance etc while the TPO is in effect which is one year. My HR said that I can remove him as long as my divorce decree doesnt state that I have to cover him. does the divorce decree trump the TPO? Im also about to be remarried, no judgement please, and will need to add him and his boys to my insurance. I cant have an ex husband and a husband on my health insuracne. what do i do?

Ask your lawyer if the TPO takes precedence and your ex will stay on your insurance. That's who will have to fight for you if he brings you to court regarding this issue.
Did you also put a TPO on him? That's what it sounds like when you said, "i agreed to consent to keep the TPO in place on him"
and he has custody of the kids currently?
Do all of those things (utilities, etc.) count if you're divorced? I could see why they'd be in place if you were still married. Again, ask the court that issued the TPO or ask your attorney (and get the answers in writing).
