Re: Contemplating divorce

A spouse doesn't have to agree to a divorce in order for you to get one. However the less they agree with it the more likely they will make your life miserable in the processes.

How old are your kids? Are they still at living at home? Who gets custody and child support? He may fight you over this.

Have you really looked at your financial picture without him in your life? Will you be able to support yourself and possibly the kids.

Have you tried Marriage Counseling?

Just want you to go into this thinking about the BIG picture and what you might lose.

Re: Contemplating divorce

If he won't go into therapy with you then go for yourself....it can go a long way into helping you figure it all out...a good support system.

Cristal: I was also married for 21 years. You should visit a Lawyer. There is a lot at stake in long term marriages. Family Lawyers are best when children are concerned - even if they are older, college students like mine were.
