Melissa: Check the child support laws on line in your State, but since he is the biological father of the child, it is most likely he will have to continue to pay child support. Your future husband is not his biological father and may pay for things he wants to buy for your son from his heart, but he is not legally obligated to support your son.

You say you are going after your child's biological father for child support. Once that is proven it doesn't matter if you marry someone else. Bio Dad will have to pay child support until the child is at least 18. Unless you and your husband ask him to give up his rights so your current husband can adopt the child.

Yes, the father will be required to pay you. Sounds like you have a sweet deal - mom, boyfriend, and soon the father all helping you. Whatever you do, don't get a job - that will just reduce your support payments. It's a great system for those of us that take advantage of it! Look into SNAP and TANF - you'll never have to work again!
