The contract on the car I am currently driving was signed by my ex husband only. Not me. Said car was awarded to me in the divorce. I am unable to make the full payment now because of additional expenses since the divorce. Can I have the car voluntarily repossessed / repossessed. If yes, what will be the repercussions on me. I really do not want to hurt my credit as I've struggled to build it up.

As long as you never signed anything with the lien/lease company, it should have no affect on your credit.

A decent thing to do would be to inform your ex that you plan to turn the car in so that he can pick it up if he wishes.
