My husband and I have talked about getting divorce soon in the upcoming future. We have decided to sell our home and were looking into moving to California. Does anyone have experience to which state, either Washington or California is favorable with spousal and child support. I have been a stay at home mom for 13 years.

Geraldine: Speak with a Family Lawyer in the State in which you will be getting divorced. If you are able to work and he gets a Lawyer, they will be expecting you to go back to work. Spousal support in many States is of a restorative nature until you get back on your feet financially and not permanent. You would be getting child support. All of this is based on his income/ability to pay.
