My husband and I are about to file. No kids, just 2 dogs, 2 Harley’s, a Wrangler and a Santa Fé. No car payments on any of that, and we rent, so no house or anything. I just moved out, he wants to pay half my rent at my new place, half the dog vet bills, and that’s it. He makes 3 times my salary. Is this fair? I don’t know what a lawyer could do to help. any suggestions? We’ve been married for 10 yrs, together for 12.

Evie: You both should have a Lawyer to determine the proper amount of alimony for you and to divide up the vehicles. There needs to be a formal agreement in writing. Check the alimony laws in your State. Get whatever help you need like visiting your local food pantry. I cut back to basic cable t.v. for a while and started shopping at thrift shops.
