Has anyone else heard of the author Nigel Tranters finding in the Papal Archives evidence that John son of William Lord of Douglas attending a Royal Council at Scone in 1056.Apparently Nigel Tranter at the time was researching for a topography that he was writing on Lowland Scotland when he found the information.
