Re: Re: Traffic on Ducks Hill Road

Digging up the road is a national pastime! I went t Norfolk last week and various road works were continuous until I was almost half way there. Then I trickled along behind gant tractors with huge trailers, I think the farmers just sell each other waggon loads of turnips to block the highway!!!

Re: Re: Traffic on Ducks Hill Road

Jenny, I still regularly read this great site but of late nothing much to correspond from OZ about!

You are probably aware that we have a great water shortage here and have just had the driest September on record followed swiftly by acouple of the hootest October days ever. As such Macquarrie Bank has bought South Eastern Water in the UK and is looking at other utilities to purchase there. They won't be exporting it but if your shower passes water that looks a little amber drink what you can. It's our way of Fosterising in the 21st century!!!!! Cheers and regards to all.

Re: Traffic on Ducks Hill Road

Bob - Thanks for Australia's potential gift to the UK! We've had a lot of rain here over the past few weeks. On Wednesday it was so heavy that the puddles in Pinner and Eastcote were more like small lakes. Driving through them, even slowly, sent great waves over the pavements. Luckily there weren't any pedestrians about!

When we were short of water here we weren't allowed to water our gardens but it was OK to wash driveways. Can you see any sense in that?

But Bob, you've been sending us that watery mixture for many years. I guess it's just the delivery method that will be changing. Up until now you've been selling it in cans

Re: Traffic on Ducks Hill Road

Hi Philip
I too was stuck in the same queue. It was all caused by a fault in the temporary traffic lights. Both were stuck on Red!
