I went for a ride along the West - North side of Winni this afternoon. Ice is barely past the docks at Meredith, Center Harbor and Shep Browns. Maybe next weekend if it keeps raining.
Lake Opeechee, however, is wide open from the Lakeport Dam to the outlet by the boat launch. The northern cove is totally locked in, though. A few small boats were out there trolling. Nice place to attempt to grab some early spring salmon for guys with smaller boats and patience.
I was reading on the www.winnipesaukee.com ice out form that there is movement of the ice in Merideth Bay and a large 1 mile stretch of open water out near the broads.
There is nothing scientific about it but I'm guessing ice out later this week (mostly because I want to be on the water next weekend).
