What a nice day for a boat ride,to say it was slow would be an understatement. It was by far the slowest day for us in 4 years at least. We threw everything at them including the kitchen sink.We managed 1 boated 20 inch laker,2 LDR'S and about 6 knockoffs with nobody home.We saw Kool Aid Charters out there and found out his clients on board had put a banana curse on the entire lake(LOL)We will need Salty's expertise to get the curse removed so fishing can get better soon(LOL).We will try again next weekend.polebreaker
I was using a lot of single flies, and am convinced that the feathers were a bit too long, gotta trim them up a little. Straight Orange fly was getting our hits.
We had some real beginners out there today with a half dozen "donkied" fish (it got frustrating) so I head back out for an hour or so to try it myself.
Only boated a couple fish today it was a slow day!
And thanks for the confirmation on the bananas Dave,
they didn't believe me that they were bad luck. They got rid of em and we hooked up a bit later and got a few more hits. They believed it then, and apologized for setting a curse on my boat.
Gotta scrub it down especially good tomorrow!
Oh ya, the stuff people care about... riggers 28-34' and 6-7 colors. Similar action when comparing leadcore to riggers (for me I usually hook up more on riggers but not today). Chappy's guide red/gold 2" landed the few fish I caught today.
Good Luck out there!
