My dad had surgery yesterday and they found what they believe is cancer on his lung. Please pray for him. They are waiting on pathology to determine the treatment plan. Please add him to any prayer lists that you may be a part of. Thank you so much.
We talked with the doctor and the cancer is mesothelioma. They are sending him to Pittsburgh next week for testing to see if he is a cantidate for lung removal. There are many criteria to be met, but the biggest one I think is that he's cancer free everywhere else. The surgery is really aggressive but please pray that he can have it and make it through. Yesterday he cried for the first time. I know he's so scared. He said he doesn't want to suffer and he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life in a hospital. Please also pray that he keeps a positive attitude and fights. Please pray for me and my mom and my husband. We are all waiting to wake up but have to be strong for dad. Ask God for complete healing for Dad and for wisdom that we make the right decisions. Thank you all.
Jen. My dad was diagnosed 12/27/2011 with the same.
We just got back from NYU last week where he received excellent care. We have learned alot in the past 4 weeks. I'll share all we learned. The most important is to gain lots of knowledge before you let anyone do anything. Some treatments are none reversible. Dad had the lining removed from the lung area and chest wall where local regional experts were not sure it was even possible to do. Id love to help as well as my dad. We hope no one has to learn the hard way.
Thanks to Jeff, we are headed to NYC Wednesday for an appointment early Thursday afternoon. We appreciate your continued prayers and support. God Bless you all!
Just a quick update. Dad goes into surgery tomorrow (wed) at 830am. Nyc has been good so far. Dads meso is minimal and stage 1. The dr, dr pass, and everyone we have come in contact with are amazing. So helpful. Dr.pass expects dad to recover well. He will have 4 rounds of chemo when we get home and then be monitored. God is so good! Can't wait to share this story about how God worked through Cursillo and Jeff to save my Dads life! Please keep up the prayers for both of our families!
Jennifer, my friend, my family and I have been and will continue praying for your Dad and whole family. Especially tommorrow during his surgery. Please give him a big Cursillo hug for me and remind him God loves him. (and you too!)
Jen,
We will be praying today for your Dad, the surgeons and all involved in his care - for skill, thoroughness, and compassion. You and your family are also a part of those prayers - for strength, patience and peace.
Dad's surgery went great! Right now, he is cancer free! We are still waiting to see him, but I wanted to update you all really quickly and let you knowm I will give more details later. Please continue the prayers and thank you for helping us receive a miracle!
Great news! This is an excellent example of how we CANNOT do this alone! We were not created to be alone, but to depend on each other - to be in relationship with God and each other - to MAKE A FRIEND, BE A FRIEND, and BRING A FRIEND TO CHRIST!
