Nate was severely injured Thursday April 16 when a young distracted driver crossed the yellow line and struck him and his motorcycle head-on. Jeff Rzepka already reported that Nate lost the lower half of his left leg, it was amputated at the knee. He also had severe internal bleeding, punctured lung, broken femur and hip (same side as amputation) and had his spleen removed. He was moved from ICU on Sunday which was a huge blessing and reflects the answered prayers of thousands of people including many Cursillistas. What he really could use now are prayers for an easing of his pain, as you can imagine with all the broken bones and broken hip he is in extreme pain and they are having a hard time controlling it for him, he is normally a very upbeat and optimistic man, but has had some moments of real despair the past few days. He isn't sleeping well and that adds to it.
So thank you for your many prayers, and please pray for a lessening of his pain level.
His family asks that you also hold up in prayer the young man who hit Nate. He is having a very hard time dealing with the accident as you can imagine. He is only 16 and this is a heavy burden for him, too.
And yes, Nate WAS wearing a helmet which DID save his life. Thank you, Jesus.
Please do not text and drive, don't fiddle with your radio when you are driving and watch for motorcycles; they are everywhere.
Please assure Nathan that he is in our prayers - for lessening of his pain and full healing of body and spirit.
Praying also for the young man who caused this tragedy - that he will be able to forgive himself as God forgives all of us, and that he will find good in the midst of the struggles that lay ahead for him.
