You, Me, Everyone!
I explained 'how' in my opening post...

Not 'dissing' you at all, I KNOW what you believe about how Christians shouldn't make any efforts to OBEY the law, because THAT would be 'their works'.
And, how that the Bible says that 'our righteousness' is just filthy rags to God... I'm sure you wanted me to consider that.. and I have.

But WHY would God look at our efforts to OBEY HIM, as 'filthy rags'?? Haven't you ever wondered?

There's lots to this topic and I'll gladly discuss it, if you are willing to consider it.

I will post it below but wanted to add....can anyone argue these facts:

G-d hates liars

G-d dispises Thieves

G-d is against adultery

G-d hates paganism and is a jealous G-d?????????

if so....one agress with the above.....how can they say they love G-d and want Him to call you His friend.....if you do that which G-d hates???

makes no sense....no matter how hard people try to reason with the wisdom of men to say otherwise....

if you love someone, and you know they hate things....yet you continually do them without repentance......THAT is love? not imv.

got me thinking based on what was said....should a christian only cared about that which deals his/her own personal spiritual hide?.....if so, one could argue they are still...very much under the old covenant which deal with physical rewards.......and much like Isreal....carnal.

For when a christian becomes converted....they understand that everything is about G-d.
They want to very much obey His ways and laws ...not for their OWN righteousness etc...but because they know and have come to understand that pleasing G-d is what matters....G-d worries not about our failures...but the repentance and trying again.....the more we try the more measure of His spirit He can give us to get better and better....and it's a long race with a lot of tests and pitfalls along the way....but again....if one ONLy worries about themselves....then that is as carnal as one gets.

the fundament judgement i see people making about those who say to obey the commandments is that THEY judge OUR hearts....and make the erroneous assumption we are doing it or saying to do so....for our OWN glory and righteousness....hogwash and again...a doctrine/judgement of satan....

pleasing G-d in our ways....is what made Abraham, David, Lot, and many others....actualy FRIENDS of G-d. He/G-d called them His friend....wow....wouldn't that be wonderful?....for us to be considered a friend of G-d by HIM?

So is baptism necessary?

well, he carnal man will claim no and use a hundred doctrines of men to say why....but the reality is G-d in scripture has said that for us to receive a measure of His Holy Spirit...we must be baptised...and not as a baby...it must be a conscious willing turn over of the carnal man to the new ways of G-d....it is important to G-d for us to be baptised...

that is enough reason for me.

Can you say G-d would call you HIS friend?

THAT to me should be what each of us strive for.....not petty arguments over the law and what one has to do to say their eternal hide....do what is pleasing to G-d....and the rest will take care of itself.

My Curiosity got the best of me, so I inquired, "Why would anyone... WANT to
go to heaven? Why do YOU want to go there?"

Gerard replied, "no way..... too boooooring... plus, clouds bother my

Well, Gerard, I know you don't want to go there, but seriously... wasn't that
part of YOUR former belief system? It was part of mine, for many years. The
preacher preached about it every sun-day, and the whole congregation was excited
about the possibility. To everyone of us, it was "The Blessed Hope"!! None
of us wanted to stay here, in this wicked world, with all the sinners... We
wanted to escape all the bad things that were to come,(even though we didn't
really know what those bad things were).. and to be safe in the arms of
Jesus!

But, one day, God saw His way clear, to begin showing me things 'in
Scripture'... things I had never seen before! Of course, they had always
been there, but the constant 'preaching' from my pastor and the constant
reinforcement of tract after tract, just kept me focused on Heaven! Kept
me in the DARK about the REAL Blessed Hope!

By God's Grace, and His showing me things in the Bible I'd never seen before, He
was able to give me a NEW HOPE!

WHERE THE PROBLEMS ARE

Down here, on this earth, is where all the PROBLEMS are!.. here is where
all the pain and sorrow are... all the poverty, sickness... all the SADDNESS!
Here, on earth is where the people are... and I remembered that Jesus Died for
all, not just a few.... He died for them, just as much as He died for
me.. Not just for a few... but for the Billions and Billions who have lived
since the day man first opened his eyes and took his first breath!

I used to think that God was going to 'throw up His hands' and give up on this
evil world! That He was going to swoop down, grab the FEW that He was able to
SAVE, and take them AWAY to Heaven, while the rest of humanity was just a LOSS
and wasted effort! Just basically, 'Left Behind' to be taken and burned, 'forever',
by the devil...

But God has shown me a better plan...

I no longer want to go to heaven... but there are many millions who do! So, it's
a serious topic. One that every person should ponder and consider!

This thread is for, and to, those who still cling to that 'blessed
hope'... it's a chance for them to stop and think about things, that are IN
SCRIPTURE, yet things that they may have never seen, or considered, because
their pastors never mentioned, or explained them.

For those who do understand, it's an opportunity to 'be there' for these other
folks.. Ready and willing to explain, and(God Willing)..to help them to grasp
the truth about the 'going to heaven' doctrine, with as much love, and
patience, as possible. I pray that will be the case...
