Talking of loyalty NEVER renew AA or RAC without digging around. You can save loads on a phone call.
Every year the AA have matched their "New Member" price which saved about £60 each time. This year when I asked them they said no as I had "Used the service" (I thought that was why I paid for it!). My renewal would have been £10 more than a brand new member.
I am with the RAC now.............
