Thanks for explanation Anthony. As a child living on Manor Way I was greatly intrigued by an old man who rode passed our house every evening on a tricycle. He always wore a battered trilby hat and overcoat. On the ehandlebar was a white enamel pot which I suppose contained tea. Tied to the back of the tricycle was a little dog who had no choice but to trot along. I always thought he must have been a watchman during construction of the manor Homes. One of Ruislip's forgotten characters!
