If it's not addressed to me and is otherwise unsolicited then it will immediately go into the bin. Whilst I may have to briefly determine this to be the case I will not be thanking the sender for wasting my time by giving it any more attention than that.

I think this is a common feeling and approach, explaining why more and more junk mail now comes in an envelope and, as near as possible, is addressed (usually to the Occupier and/or Homeowner).
