oloolo, might the clue be that you used it on a Saturday? I think people who use trains to get to work usually take the weekends off.
I went on the HS1 train all the way to Ramsgate and loved it. Stopped at Canterbury on the way back - if I could pay a little more to be on such a nice smooth train where I knew I'd be able to sit and relax, I'd do it every time.
