Re: renting with dss

Kristine

I am sorry to hear of your predicament. My daughter found herself in the same situation through no fault of her own and trying to find a roof over their heads whilst at that time relying on claiming housing benefit narrowed what was available.

We found that even though some properties did not invite DSS recipients it was always worth phoning the agent in person with a good telephone manner and asking whether the Landlord would reconsider.

Sometimes the property might have been on the market for a while, as was the situation with my daughter.

An offer of a good guarantor if available can also swing it.
