Where did you see the mention of the home made chocolates Sharon? All I see is the ad for Hills the builder. Hills was one of the several 'small' builders at the time. He built several homes around the 'Parade' end of Manor Way. I suppose the ice cream shop to have been Toni's on Victoria Road. It caused a minor sensation when it opened because of the wide variety it offered. While a great success, it was put out of business by the combination of wartime shortages and the fact that Toni was Italian which meant he likely was interned.
