I remember Tony,s Ice Cream store well. He also had a second one in Southall I believe or maybe Greenford. Due to wartime rationing he could not sell dairy products and stayed open to sell coffee and tea.
After the war there were huge lineups to buy ice cream because most young people aged around eight or nine had never had the chance to eat ice cream before.
I left the Manor in 1960 and he was still going strong then.
