I contacted the Council about the marking of the motorcycle parking bay outside 60 Victoria Road. Have just received the following reply :
The marking and signing of the bay at the above location does comply with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002. The bay to TSRGD 2002 diag 1028.4 is marked very differently to the other individually marked bays (diag 1032) next to the motorcycle bay. The motorcycle may may have optional wording:
SOLO MOTORCYCLES ONLY
SOLO M/CYCLES ONLY
SOLO M/CS ONLY
Written outside of the bay on the carriageway, we tend to mark these bays with the wording and will do so in the near future. The lack of the legend in no cause for a successful appeal should a PCN have been issued at this location.
