Sainsbury's and, I would assume, all major food retailers operate a strict policy regarding any possible food hygiene issue and many products never even reach the shop floor before a batch issue is detected. In rare cases a product will hit the shelves but will then be cleared for recall with advertising, much as Mr Kipling's Mince Pies were a couple of years ago just as Christmas trade started to build up.
