Re: Waters Edge (pub)

I have only ever heard poor feedback about this place. The same for The Orchard (Beefeater) and The George (Harvester) nearby. You think these companies would get a grip and sort out the staff/management. Trip Advisor should be closely monitored by senior management and action taken if venues consistently get poor feedback. It makes financial sense.

This will just be a brand change with the same management and staff. Such as shame as the venue has so much potential.

The Orchard (beefeater) is ridiculous, booked a table for 2 and still had to wait 45mins while there was plenty of empty tables. Never going back there again!

Re: Waters Edge (pub)

Went in Beefeater a few years ago, the manager was clueless. Never again.

Re: Waters Edge (pub)

Yet on that 'Tricks of the Restaurant' programme on tv on Monday evening the Waters edge roast was declared delicious and of excellent value. Was a bit stunned I must admit.

Re: Waters Edge (pub)

Well I went there once this spring and it wasn't great. It was just busy. I've not been to the Beefeater - so many of them are rubbish. There are also very few decent Harvester restaurants. My worst restaurant experiences have been with Harvester or Beefeater. I complained once about the one in Basingstoke and got a voucher because the manager was appalling-- complained about Brighton one a few years before that and nothing was done.

I think a good restaurant at the Lido would be good but it does lack sufficient parking
