I got out last night for the first time in a while for salmon. We got one at 35ft on the downrigger 10 ft behind vertical flashers - healthy and VERY fat but short. Other than that, one average sized smallie on the leadcore setup and two HUGE white perch near last light. Nothing on white perch flies which were killer last year. We tried depths from 25-60 ft. I was surprised to not get into lakers. Marked lots of bait in the area.
We fished from 4-last light and I have to admit, we did much better this time last year using same techniques in the same location. It seems there are a lot more reports like mine than there were last year. I'm hoping it's me and not the fishery...
