Can anyone give me an idea of what the ice conditions are on Winni in the Harilla Landing Launch area? We have a camp on Little Bear Island and we were considering coming up on the weekend of January 15 through the 17th ice conditions permitting. We are coming from Albany Ny and it is a long drive to find that we may not be able to cross if the ice conditions are not safe. Thanks for any insight.
If you are planning on crossing on foot, I think you should be okay.
If you are thinking of driving a car or truck I would say no.
Have not been on ice on that part of lake but I do know some of the wider open areas have only been frozen for about nine-ten days.
