I was thinking of taking my two young sons to Ellacoya to fish Saturday. I was wondering if anybody had any insight into how the snow and ice conditions are. We would be going it on foot with daddy pulling a sled.

I don't know how the conditions are at the southern end of the lake but the northern end is fine.I walked from harrila landing off long island out to the broads on thursday with no problem.The ice was about 14" throughout with good solid black ice.There was only about 9 inches of snow on top.

Thanks for the info. Walking was not bad at all, fishing was a little slow but my nine year old managed a 17" lake trout which thrilled him.
