I've done it and it was nice to see the line for netting purposes or running off of the planer boards but I still ran a 7 foot flouro leader. I've used the yellow and the clear/blue flouescent. I didn't notice any strike differences between the hi-vis and clear. The hi-vis just made everything a little easier on the people in my boat. This year I put the clear stuff on for no reason other than that was what Bass pro had enough of the day I went.
I have used the yellow in the past and it is great for seeing the line and knowing when the fish is getting close. I stopped using it because I was worried I was getting less bytes. Not sure if was casuing it by I got my butt kicked a couple days on the pond and swithched it all out. It was great with clients though!
