Eating crow (archaically, eating boiled crow) is an English-language idiom meaning humiliation by admitting wrongness or having been proved wrong after taking a strong position.[1] Eating crow is presumably foul-tasting in the same way that being proved wrong might be emotionally hard to swallow.[1] Eating crow is of a family of idioms having to do with eating and being proved incorrect, such as to "eat dirt", to "eat your words", and to "eat your hat" (or shoe).[1]
Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936) used this concept as a central metaphor in his short story "The Strange Ride of Morrowbie Jukes" (1885). Morrowbie Jukes, a European colonist in India, falls into a sand-pit from which he cannot escape. Another man, a native Indian, is also trapped there who catches wild crows and eats them, but Morrowbie in his pride declares, "I shall never eat crow!" After days of nothing to eat, his hunger and desperation finally force him to do what he swore he would never do: literally eat crow.[5]

Travis has done all of the above, eat crow, eat dirt, etc. and allot worse,ha,ha.

I actually wasn't trying to give him any crap, this time anyway, just passing along what it all meant. I must admit I have eaten the crow after finally admitting that flies are better than spoons!

Took me a while to change over to 95% (maybe more) streamers, best thing is boat speed is not a factor like it can be with spoons allowing you to cover more area in a shorter period of time. Not to mention they look a hell of allot more like natural food than spoons.
Biggest plus is I'm told little Salmon (yearlings) are not as apt to bite a streamer as quickly as they will a shiny spoon. I'll let you know this spring if we catch allot of yeralings (now 2 yr olds) that thankfully eluded us all last year ?
