What is the difference in looks between a rock bass and a white perch?

I caught a fish this weekend that i thought was a white perch, but my buddy insists that it was a rock bass due to the fish had bright Red eyes!

rock bass look nothing like white perch. they are a different shape more like a sunfish and they have a dark color.

sHOULD ALSO ROLL THEM IN ITALIAN BREAD CRUMBS!!!

The fish I caught was a rock bass, in back bay wolfeboro. I let it go, next time i will just dispose of it.
