I'm thinking total shrinkwrap is best, that's how the boat companies do it, even for pontoon boats. As I was planning on selling The Barge, before I took it north to the lake I cleaned and conditioned the seats (I do it 3 or 4 times a season anyhow) and gave everything a thorough cleaning in general.
When I got to the lake there was a film of road dirt and dust on everything and that's only a 100 mile drive. I'm thinking when I take the new boat down to Florida (a little more than 100 miles) next December, I'll get it shrink wrapped, at least the front as I will have a mooring cover on it. The dirt comes right off, but some gets into cracks and crevices that takes "multiple" (there's that word again, ha-ha) months to clean it all out.
I'd be paranoid with a fiberglass boat I'd shrink wrap the nose at a minimum, even if only for peace of mind. Good Luck,
