question/questions? I was just wondering with all the concerns everybody out here on this web site has about the well being of the Salmon and how people think they are taking a pounding when you put them in ,they are getting hook wounded and all.
What effect would it be on the fishery if the state was to,let's say stop the salmon and lake trout fishing on let's say one of the salmon and lake trout lakes a year, let's say winni the first year then Squam, then sunapee and so on all taking their turn. this would not stop the fisherman from salmon or lake trout angling ,it would just stop them from a particular lake for a year. If not stopping the fishing for salmon and lake trout altogether then stop them from fishing from a motor boat. this would not stop the people from fishing from the docks or shore just make fishing for them harder which in 99% of the cases drive the angler to another lake taking the Pressure off of the lake that would be up in the rotation? Would this also cut down on the amount of fish required to be in the shut down lake, being able to put more in other lakes? I don't know the answers and certainly don't want to start a big fight on this web site, but I would be interested in your thoughts. As far as the Guides I believe they are licensed state wide so they could/can go anywhere, it may effect them a little but it would not be taking thier livleyhood from them and for the most part the vacationers probably are not anglers and if so they could frequent other lakes as well. what say the readers of this site. now again I am not trying to start trouble just throwing my "Idea of the month" out here on this site.
