Saturday Striper Report

Launched at 6:30 and another tough day on the salt. Jigged up some macs and that was a chore didn't seem to be many around. Headed back to MOM 4 stripers all around the 30 inch mark, that was it. The sturgeon were jumping at the mouth again and I saw a few seals not good for the fish. Didn't see many boats catching any fish, great tide and weather but the summer blues are setting in. One guy said he caught a 38 in bluefish, I didn't see it. Also saw Cool Aid and Capt. Matty out there.

Re: Saturday Striper Report

Good report Charlie. I was out for stripers thursday and yesterday and only found them a few miles off shore feeding on herring along with bluefish. It,s hit or miss as they push the herring to the surface then you spot the gulls feeding and fish breaking. Doesn,t always last long though. Thursday we got a 24# striper and a 14# bluefish along with a bunch of 29 to 35 in. stripers. Yesterday it was all stripers in the 29 to 34 in. range. Plenty of macs at 2KR buoy and White Island Light. Cal P.

Re: Saturday Striper Report

Cal did you get my email last week? I responded - never heard back.

Had a couple trips this weekend. Fished the Merrimack both days and it was a bit slower than usual for us but everyone caught fish and had a great time. Had a 15 year old, Andrew out for his birthday and all he wanted was a big striper for his 15th birthday! We got him one! A nice 47" striper that weighed in around 35 lbs. He wouldn't stop smiling!

Good luck to everyone on the water this week!
