Hi,
I just picked up a new 16’ Lund utility without a motor. I’d like to rig it up for lead line & downrigging on Winni next year. The max the boat is rated for is 25HP. The dealer said a 15HP would be an OK minimum for this boat. So I’m looking for opinions on motoring this guy up. 15, 20, or 25HP Merc? The 15 & 20HP Merc's are carbureted while the 25 is fuel injected. They also make a 15HP kicker along with a reg 15HP - what's up with that?
I’m concerned of either these motors trolling too fast or the cylinders loading up with raw gas by extended running at slow speeds.
Is a Mercury the way to go?
