"As recently reported in November's issue of "Hawkeye", There have been 2 confirmed landings of trophy size Northern Pike in Lake Winnisquam. Back in May, NH Fish & Game biologist John Viar landed a Trophy size Norther Pike just north of the site where Barry Arseneau was trolling for trout and salmon when he landed a 18 pound Northern Pike which measured at 40 inches long and 17 inches in gerth. He caught the trophy size Northern using a DB Smelt lure fished 30+ feet down. NH Fish & Game is now investigating how these 2 Northern Pike ended up in Winnisquam as they are not native to the lake and haven't been stocked there by NH F & G. They are also investigating whether any other Pike are present in the lake. They could cause great harm to the lake and any info of the matter should be reported to NH Fish & Game."
