When will everyone realize it's a put and take fishery, There isn't enough feed in that lake to support a "Trophy" lake.....
My $.02
You can't tell me the largest lake in the state can not sustain trophy fish. I am just not buying that.If you guys start harvesting some of the fish you want to protect it will leave more food for the ones that you don't catch. just my opinion but I think you guys are only interested in the number of fish you can catch in a day. As you said yourself it is a put and take lake the state puts them in for you to take so take them and they will put more in. they stock what 25000 fish a year? no way we would catch them all but the ones we don't will be left with plenty of feed, so forget about your numbers and in time the lake would yield some monsters."no way the lake can produce trophy salmon" BULL not stating facts because I am no expert, these are just my thoughts on this matter.
Hey Forry, Talk to a Bio and find out what the goal is on Salmon in Winni.... It will surprise you.... I believe the goal is 3 years old and 18-20 inches... If you're not going to manage it for Trophy's it will never be a trophy lake.. I'm not saying you won't catch a 6 or 7 pounder but you're not going to catch them at a regular basis.... There is way to much competition for feed in that lake, I'm no expert so take it for what it's worth.....
